Maintenance

Maintenance of the CAPS system is very economical due to it’s simple architecture and basically entails repairing physical, cable-type antenna’s and replacing batteries on the locking castors. Batteries on both the locking castors and the reset controllers are changed approximately every 18 months, depending on the frequency of locking castors. Properly installed cable-type antennae is seldom in need of any service as this is buried in saw-cuts and the saw-cuts are filled with suitable protective and watertight fillers.

Note: General maintenance on the trolleys themselves such as replacing the normal wheels or repair of the baskets, are greatly reduced, if not eliminated, as a result of trolleys being kept on premises. We strongly believe that almost all physical damage to trolleys happens off site, where tampering can happen out of view of store staff. It is the experience of Carttronics that shop owners/managers receive a lot of client compliments for trolleys being available at all times and the serviceability thereof, especially during peak times when the competition’s trolleys are in a bad state and usually poorly available, such as during the Christmas season.
